International Conference within the Framework of the Project CO2NeuTrAlpThe future energy supply is facing great challenges. On the one hand climate change is steadily proceeding, on the other hand raw materials are becoming scarce - and much more expensive in the long term. Nowadays 98% of road transport in the EU depends on fossil fuels. Within the EU Alpine Space Project CO2NeuTrAlp - CO2-Neutral Transport for the Alpine Space (www.co2neutralp.eu) it shall be demonstrated, that environmentally friendly mobility by means of renewable resources from the region is feasible without endangering the environment.
The international CO2NeuTrAlp Kick-Off Conference offers a central platform for the discus-sion of the first project results and the potential of renewable energies for alternative propul-sion technologies. Both technological and organisational concepts for sustainable mobility - foremost but not only - in the Alpine Space will be presented and debated. A vehicle fleet with electric or biogenous powered passenger cars, trucks, buses, pedelecs and tractors will be made available for demonstration purposes.
Apart from the project partners from France, Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Germany, about 200 international guests are expected, including decision-makers from local authorities, regions and companies, mobility experts, scientists as well as a broad range of public experts.
The International Project CO2NeuTrAlpWithin the scope of the project 15 partners are testing innovative propulsion technologies for transport in the Alpine Space based on renewable energies. In doing so, it shall be made sure that the use of biofuels and electric energy conform to transparent sustainability re-quirements.
Using the example of the Allgäu region, the project will look at the integration of electric mo-bility can be integrated in the transport system of the whole Alpine Space. Next to the opera-tion of vehicles and charging stations under the specific conditions of the Alpine Space, the pilot project looks at new business concepts, tariff and incentive systems and services, such as e. g. vehicle renting systems for tourists.
CO2NeuTrAlp is funded under the European Territorial Cooperation Programme for the Al-pine Space. The German project partners B.A.U.M. Consult GmbH and AllgäuNetz GmbH & Co. KG are co-funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Public Health and the City of Sonthofen.
E-TourWithin the E-Tour project, the consortium is going to face the technological challenges of electric mobility. The charging capacities of e-vehicles establish demand a great deal of the load management in a distribution network when occurring contemporaneously. Here, it is essential to establish an interaction between the E-vehicle and the power grid by means of smart control components and available information and communication technologies (ICTs).
In the future, energy suppliers should be able to offer a predictable infrastructure with mod-ern navigation and detection systems to the customers. Within the project E-Tour a function-ing infrastructure (grid integration, ICT-concept and charge spots) shall be designed in the Allgäu region. In this context, different logistic concepts can be analysed with regards to their economical effectiveness.
